Great ride today thanks for coming guys and gals 👍, Steve says.

A grey drizzley day greeted 8 riders for my final duty as club run leader, Andrea and Darren (who had just raced the KCC club Broughton 10m TT at 8am joined us along with James Bolton, Stephen Webster, Adam Churchill, Ian Groves and Andy Parker.

The club split into two groups from our Sainsburys meeting point and set off taking Warkton Hill to warm the legs up then onto the Brigstock lumps picking Mike Castelete, up on the way not before Andy Parker had a front tyre blow out and we had a great display of his AMAZING bike handling skills that saved him from a tumble.

The route then headed through the lovely scenic villages of Kings Cliff and Apethorpe which led us nicely to where we regrouped at the arranged stop, Spokes Cafe in Harringworth, who greeted us with their fine selection of cakes and beverages.

Steve says: as we settled down we were even graced with the presence of royalty in the form of Gemma Royles and Sue Rust, Sue had also raced the TT in the morning, it was great to see them.

Suitably refreshed, Gemma and Sue joined us for the homeward leg of our club ride and we headed off under the beautiful viaduct of Harringworth, one rolling the pace steadily increased so much so by the time we got to the hill of Bringhurst and School Hill a few Strava throphies were claimed!

Although there was a show of tired legs, this pace continued and it was then a quick sprint home through Pipewell and Rushton where various riders peeled off in their various directions for home.

Thanks for everyone who came and we had a good show of club jerseys, thank you all that attended, and making it a fabulous social ride. I look forward to handing the reins of club run leader back to Ian ! Cheers Steve

A big thank you to Steve Wong for leading the group whilst Ian has been away.
