We ran the Mark Bell Memorial 15m TT this morning on the N7/15 at Earls Barton.
The weather finally turned up and we had a competitive race.
The top 4 riders in the Open category all broke the previous course record with George Fox ultimately being the quickest on the day. He took home the always impressive Mark Bell Memorial Trophy which he’ll keep for another year.
In the ladies sections Lynne Scofield from Rockingham Forest won the Road Bike section and Lauren Creamer from Velo Fixers was the fastest Lady and also new Ladies Course Record holder.
Maria Cayford and Chris Old were flying the flag for KCC and put in very creditable performances. Many of the other riders were regulars at our Club TT’s and all rode strongly.
As an organiser it was great to get such a positive vibe from all of the riders in the field and I’m already thinking about next year’s event and how we can encourage more riders to ride it.
Finally, thanks have to go out to our KCC members and friends who gave up their time to make sure that the event could run smoothly.
Jon Thorne kept time along with Sharon Fensom.
Josh Cayford was the pusher off and helped Jon at the finish too.
Pete Campbell marshalled the two junctions near the start/halfway.
Roy Crombie and Scott Barber marshalled the Billing Roundabout.
David Robinson was our observer and helped guide riders back to the finish.
A big shout out also goes to Jamie Stockham who organised the opening of the HQ and made sure that everything there ran smoothly.
