Social 30m with Marcus and a visit to the Pig & Waffle in Grafton Underwood
This week’s social ride with Marcus is an anti-clockwise loop with the hilly bits mostly in the first few miles. We will start with the climb to Loddington, turning north to Rothwell before looping through Rushton, Pipewell and skimming the edge of Gt Oakley. Going south-east from there, we’ll cross the railway and the A43 and continue through Geddington, taking in the views across the Boughton House grounds before stopping for refreshments at the Pig & Waffle in Grafton Underwood. We’ll then continue south-east to Woodford, looping through Cranford and almost back to Grafton Underwood before dropping through Warkton and back to basecamp. Pace will as always be suitable for all, generally 13mph is the target but if we have enough riders there may be a slightly faster group too. For those who are feeling a little less energetic there’s the option of turning directly for home after the break, skipping the Woodford loop and saving about 10 miles.
SOCIAL: SOCIAL 13-14mph / STEADY 15mph+ (30 miles) – with Marcus (can split into two groups on the morning, depending on rider abilities as a no drop policy)
