The first of KCC’s weekly evening Time Trial Series events was held on Thursday 4th April on the Grafton Underwood course. A sporting course, this one takes in Grafton Underwood, to Slipton, Thrapston and along the B6116 to Brigstock, where riders turn towards the ‘Brigstock Bumps’ back to Grafton.
A gusty South-easterly wind blew the riders along the B6116, with some impressive top speeds recorded down the hill past Islip (42.5mph). That same breeze hindered all on the climb back home, where Tony Brown took the honours in 31:31, a 1:05 Personal Best. Josh Brown came second with a stunning ride on a road bike in 31:44, a 3:45 PB. At just 15 years of age Josh is showing great form early on in this season, with road race wins to his credit as well. Look out for more success from Josh this year. Third place fell to Martin Keable in 33:13, a PB of 38 seconds. Fastest lady on the night was Maria Gent in 37:25 again a personal best of 3 seconds.
