Raffle proceeds and two excellent paintings
The raffle raised £130 for Johnny’s Happy Place and was boosted by many great prizes donated generously by club members including two excellent paintings of Geraint Thomas and Wout Van Aert by Pat Houghton.
Johnny Mackay
Johnny’s Happy Place is small local community interest company dedicated to the legacy of Johnny Mackay who, sadly, took his own life in 2014.
The company was started by Johnny’s mum, Denise and family and they seek to reduce the stigma around mental health issues.
Johnny’s Happy Place, not just a café!
As well as a café that offers a happy, welcoming and safe environment for people who are going through a rough time, they have a fareshare food table, counselling, an art workshop and a creative writing workshop.
Open weekends
They are open Saturdays 10am – 2pm and Sundays 11am – 2pm.
It’s easy to associate cycling with physical well-being but we firmly believe
that it also plays a vital role in mental well-being and we’re delighted to be able to support the great work that
Johnny’s Happy Place do.
