Last Sunday’s ride (13.02.22) rolled back the years to four core riders who turned out week in, week out 10 years or so ago. Andrea Wollcott (this time without working Darren Gillings), Ian Bird, Roger Reed and Andy Parker met at Sainsbury’s.
Having seen the forecast, I was a bit disappointed to see Ian (no offence!) as I thought I could cut down the ride a bit. But soon the famous four were reunited and we set out into the teeth of the wind, south through Pytchley, through the Bramptons and finally turned north with a tail wind) towards Holdenby.
As drizzle started to fall, we decided to cut a corner and headed up to Spratton and then to the cafe in Brixworth only to find it was under repair.
A good decision was made to keep moving as the rain got slightly faster and we headed back via Scaldwell and Loddington to Kettering.
Taking over from absent partner Darren, Andrea proved an able photographer.
