Andy reports:

Wet from the start…

With the weather threatening rain from 10am and the daily forecast predicting heavy rain after noon, on the gathering of the dedicated few, Andy Parker and Jon Thorne, joined Andy King at Loddington and set off on a shortened version of the originally planned route with the intention of getting back relatively dry with the aim of getting some steady miles in.

It was a day for overshoes, rain coats and rainex!

As it turned out they got wet more or less from the get go but all three agreed that it was an enjoyable ride never the less.

The shortened route, started off on our original route but then when got to East of Northampton, and onto the village of Denton, we then diverted across to the climbs of Castle Ashby, Easton Maudit and then looped back to Grendon to take the direct route back to Kettering via Earls Barton, Mears Ashby and Pytchley. Covering a decent ride of 42 miles.

Hopefully sunshine next week

For next week’s ride we’ll be looking forward to weather that’s something between this week’s rain and last week’s blazing sunshine, hopefully closer to last week though!
