Some great times recorded despite everyone’s lack of racing miles.
The first post-lockdown time trial of the season was held on the Old 9.4 mile circuit. Riders were greeted with fine weather, which was reflected in some impressive times. With entry restricted to KCC members, 13 starters took to the line.
Quickest on the night was Tony Brown, finishing in 20:33, followed by Rob Barker’s 22:15 and Mike Cope in 23:48.
Newly-rejoined ex-Cyclone Hudson Hendry recorded an excellent 23:49 debut time as fastest junior, with Amy Bird 2nd in 25:39.
Fastest woman was Sue Rust (23:54), holding off Maria Gent (24:54) and Amy.
Chris Duckworth (24:03) won the road bike shoot-out, just pipping Gary Carter (24:05) with Natalie Sharp (30:31) in 3rd.
