The westerly cross wind took no prisoners
A clear blue sky greeted the riders of this mornings TT at Broughton, for the fourth race of the post covid-19 lockdown. The traffic was unusually heavy for the early morning start, in the glory of sunshine, it was dry but some damp from an evening of rain.
Due to covid-19 measures, no pusher-off, the riders had to deal with a unusual south westerly wind, that was tough on the way out, and gave very little benefit on the return.
That said, we had some fast times from a core field of riders, Tony Brown, coming first with an impressive 21:47, just pipping Andy Fairley 21:50 and in third Rob Barker 22:54.
Ladies were out again with Sue Rust 25:08 first, with Maria Gent 26:46 securing second, although the field of ladies were less than the last races, it was great to see some pink on the start line.
Another superb ride by Hudson with an impressive 24:49 at only 13 years old.
In the road bike category we saw another superb ride, with Andy King at 25:09.
And we say… it was a tough day, there’s some good times to come as everyone finds their legs!
