Some happy riders after their rides. 😀
10 degrees warmer and no hail!
We had seven riders ride in this week’s TT, 5 of whom had thawed out after last week’s event and two new riders. It was one of those new riders, new KCC member Peter Campbell who clocked the fastest time of the evening with an excellent 33:35. Once he gets to know the circuit he should be a bit faster!
Dan Bates’ comeback continues as he went 1:01 minutes faster than last week to come second. Scott Barber’s impressive form on his road bike saw him come first in that category with an excellent 34:51 knocking 1:20 minutes off last week’s time.
Competitive Juniors
Lukas and Jake fought a hard battle and it was great to see them sprinting against each other to the line. A fabulous effort from both of them and they’ll be ones to watch as the season progresses.
Keeping an eye on everybody else was Ian Bird who completed the times for KCC riders riding on his #2 bike.
Gutsy guest
We were happy to welcome Tom Evans of Welland Valley. Tom’s an old face from the local racing scene going back many years but he is recovering from a serious accident 2 years ago and was competing with the help of a variety of supports that enabled him to finish the race successfully. We wish Tom all the best in his recovery and look forward to seeing him again on a Thursday evening.
Thanks to the volunteers
We had a great team of volunteers at the race. Tony Brown was a great timekeeper and we had Caroline Larsson, Sue Davys and Marcus Buksh out marshalling at the critical junctions. Thank you to them as we couldn’t run the races without them and Jon Thorne too who helped out around the course.
