Jubilee Celebration
While the country was celebrating (some way too much from what I saw as I was heading out to marshal) 10 riders lit their own bonfires and raced the 10 miles from Lamport to Rothwell and back.
Queen for the evening was Maria Gent who came home first in the ladies’ section with a solid 27:19. Emma Moore was her lady-in-waiting crossing the line on her road bike in 29:13.
The fight to be the King of KCC was won by Chris Old coming back to form with 24:19 ahead of Dan Bates with 25:40. The two Princes, Lucas and Jake were jousting again on their road bikes with Lucas coming out on top by 15 seconds with a 28:19.
This week we welcomed 4 visitors from neighbouring clubs. Fastest on the night was Michael Burke from Welland Valley riding his road bike in a very creditable time of 23:32.
Well done to everybody who rode. I hope that you celebrated accordingly afterwards.
Thanks to the volunteers
As ever we could not run the events without the volunteers and all of the riders are grateful for their input into making the event happen. Marcus organised the sign on while Mark Weathersby and Ian Bird did a great job timekeeping. Thanks to Mick Wood who again marshalled the roundabout along with Andy King who also managed to take a few photos.
Thank you all as it would have been a poorer race without you.
If you’d like to take part or help out ant any future Time Trials then please visit the Event diary where you’ll get all of the dates and courses.
